Again 03:23
Are you listening in This story begins at the end Wish I could go back Sun radiant black, come again Something in the air I was unaware it was there Something in that look I was read like the page of a book Understood Winding path Long and dark Pull me in I’ve come to see you again Forest cold Deep and old Pull me in No one will see me again Are you listening in Where do I begin, say again I wish I was old Then maybe I’d know how to feel When out at sea I wish I was whole But there’s just a stone where a beating Heart should be Winding path Long and dark Pull me in I’ve come to see you again Forest cold Deep and old Pull me in No one will see me again Chasing my tail again A circle with no end Before or after this I’ll look for what I missed

Not sure what I heard Felt confused and left behind Blurred echoes of words you’d said Staring down an empty glass I wanted away from you and I (Still dark) Hearts once flesh have turned to stone And the wave we thought we’d ride forever Has stilled
The last call had come and gone The silent moment before dawn I thought I’d opened my eyes But all was still dark I wanted away from you and me (Still dark) The wee hours have turned to days And the wave we thought we’d ride forever Has stilled Tell her you saw me I wandered, I am lost Tell her my heart has gone cold I tried, yet could not see Tell her you saw me I wandered, I am lost Tell her my heart has gone cold I tried, yet could not see

Closer 05:57
You are getting closer Drifting overseas To find missing pieces Wherever you are I hope you understand We’ve got to get going   Every night the signs are clear You follow them blindly over and over again Every top, every peak Seems to shine for lonely ones who seek Wait till it’s morning, then we will get going     So how did it go Did you lose something on the way Slipped through your fingers   Whoever she was Words don’t make sense We’ve got to get going Every night the signs awake Maybe it’s time to make a run for it Awaiting dawn, all lights are gone Don’t you know it’s time to go on  It’s almost morning Time to get going Oh, I’m drifting overseas Farther away than I’ve ever been Oh, night’s almost over     I know you’ve got to be out there somewhere

Ráth 03:32
Light nearly blinded my eyes Couldn’t hide anywhere From that radiant stare Daytime ráth Wanderer cross my path Tell me where to hide For these colours flood my eyes Night covered all of the sky Oh, that emptiest dome Made me feel all alone Midnight ráth Wanderer cross my path Tell me where to go For my eyes turn black as crow Black as crow Tracing the circle around Oh, this empty sphere Speaks of days when you were still here Mist shrouded us in its veil Oh, did we ever exist Outside this empty tale Twilight ráth Wanderer cross my path Turn this heart of stone For this gray is all I know All I know Light

Wandering 04:00
I’m hearing old Whispers in my ear I’m leaving out those eager sounds Though I fear they know where I am I’ve never known What I will find out there I want to see what’s left for me Out there, take me somewhere else Every path leads the same way And always ends when I begin wandering Do you listen, are you there again I see no trails, but I hear the voices Every path leads the same way And always ends when I begin wandering Do you listen, are you there again I see no trails, but I hear the voices Every path leads the same way And always ends when I begin wandering So take my hand and lead the way again I see no trails, but I hear the voices

Light Anew 05:26
My dearest sings North wind brings Trees in motion Drastic notions A songbird’s wing Won’t unfold Waves in oceans Helpless, cold Heavy breath Deep and old The forest darkly Turns to mold Light anew Warm and bright Naught to dread My dearest flew Where do I go, is there a sign I can't find I’m looking for you, but now my eyes have gone blind Are you a vision, a sight in the dim A spirit away, a man out of mind

Song for E. 03:03
No one is looking I say hello Dazed I stand, empty head Where are you, talk to me I left you around here somewhere In the cold Don’t wait up late I’ll be okay Leave on some light to show the way The trees are talking They say hello They’re so tall, I feel small I’d rather be with you You left me behind and I’m tired And afraid Don’t stay up late I can’t find my way I don’t think that I’ll be home today No one is looking Come say hello

I say goodbye and let go Of my empty heart And blood that won’t flow As the rain turns to snow These years, these seasons They spiral off their course As I watch them with ease I lie here with my dreamer’s disease A kiss on the cheek A pat on the back Can’t wake up anymore I’m stuck here with my dreamer’s disease I lie here with my dreamer’s disease I lie here with my dream Now I know you are gone I’ve been waiting for so damn long You’re always on my mind And sometimes you and I Lie here with our dreamer’s disease I sense something urging me on Can I follow where you have gone Can I follow where you have flown Sun rising from the sea As the ocean stirs to retrieve I was blind but now I can see Light falls in shafts through the leaves I break free from my dreamer’s disease

Ouroboros 06:02
Waves breaking on the shore To fade and be no more Waves crashing on hard stone Here comes another one Guided by light and shade I try to find my way I turn and all I see Looks all the same to me It’s better to believe that you ran away Better to believe that you got away Better than to fear that you aren’t here Better than to feel that you are not here Chasing my tail again A circle with no end Before or after this I’ll look for what I missed

Black Sun 06:04
Wander in the morning light Sun is shining in my eyes You walk by my side We are not talking Black sun shining rays of night Brilliant shadows strange and wide Someone shut my eyes Why are we falling Luminous shadows never leave me alone Reaching through skin into my heart of stone I’ll change my path but around the next bend You’re still there, is this where it will end Where did my future go Why did you not warn me so Nightfall has arrived It was just morning Luminous shadows never leave me alone Reaching through skin into my heart of stone I’ll change my path but around the next bend You’ve edged closer, is this where it ends Ooh, why are we falling Luminous shadow never leave me alone Reach through my skin and turn this heart of stone I’ll walk this path till I see where it ends Light the way, this is where it begins

about

‘Elegiac and beautifully dense post-prog from Norway’ – Prog Magazine

Dim Gray's 52 minute debut album was released June 12, preceded by the four singles ‘Ráth,’ ‘Again,’ ‘Light Anew’ and ‘Ouroboros’. The album, titled Flown, is a concept album where the songs intertwine to form more than the sum of their parts, and in which the bands’ dedication to solid craftsmanship and desire to break new ground comes to light. Structured like one continuous story, the album tells a vivid tale of loss and loneliness that twists and turns. Quiet, intimate moments are contrasted by sections of massive soundscapes containing varied and colourful instrumentation. Rooted in the near-constants of aching vocals and trembling guitars, the album weaves its way from strings-infused chamber pop through dark indie folk into grandiose art rock. Flown is an ambitious and distinct musical statement that evokes a blend of Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Susanne Sundfør, Steven Wilson and Sigur Rós.
